Hey I definitely don’t want to attack you, I like you, but I am honestly really confused. What about Eleven makes him a different man from the first ten? I’ve felt like there’s just as much if not more of the “he is still the Doctor and he always has his essence” as before? He is absolutely no Ten, but he has aspects of quite a few Doctors who came before him. What about him loses you?
Speaking for myself, I would say Series Six is a good example of how he’s so different. Personally he doesn’t always give me the right vibe. Like… he’s a bit too different. I don’t use just Ten as a basis of comparison, either; just some things don’t fit quite right with me. I still love him, he just doesn’t always strike me as the Doctor.
He does to me. The Doctor can change; I remember Three and Five beating the shit out of people with Venusian karate, something you certainly wouldn’t catch Ten doing.
I think Nine and Ten had forgotten that there was a pretty goddamn good reason he did what he did, and the Time Lords’ return in The End of Time reminded him how fucked up his species had really become. He’s matured a lot. He has a different perspective. So, yes, he’s different, but still very much the Doctor.

Being stuck in the paradox of TumblrPlanet, I like to believe that we are seperate beings with different likes and dislikes, with the overall base remaining the same.
